Lucy Beresford is a writer, psychodynamic psychotherapist, and media commentator.

Lucy offers one-to-one psychotherapy, and has a broad range of experience treating emotional and psychological issues, including:
anxiety, addictions, depression, eating disorders, family dynamics, obsessive traits, personality concerns, relationships, self-esteem, self-harm, stress, and writer’s block.
She is a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).

Lucy works at The Priory Hospital, Roehampton, and at her private practice in Central London. She has also had two sabbaticals with The Delhi Psychiatry Centre, in association with the Caring Foundation.

As part of Lucy’s on-going desire to demystify mental illness for a lay audience, her special interests are “Psychiatry, Celebrity, & Contemporary Culture.” She has also written about mental health issues for The Spectator, The Times, First Post, The Independent, and Psychologies magazine.

Lucy reviews contemporary fiction. Her work has appeared in the Literary Review, The Spectator, the Sunday Telegraph, New Statesman, the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mail, and the Times Literary Supplement.

Lucy is also on the board of Developing Artists, a facilitating organisation that supports and extends the skills of artists in developing countries.
